Undercover police officers became embroiled in a struggle with a teenage cocaine dealer they caught red-handed in a town centre. Morgan Kent was seen by plain clothes coppers carrying out a drug deal in broad daylight in Stafford.
Stafford Crown Court heard he was spotted in Marston Road at around 3pm on January, 13 2020 and he was arrested after a brief scuffle. During a search of his home address, officers discovered a total of 54 deals of class A drugs; heroin and crack cocaine worth around £540, as well as digital scales and a quantity of cash.
Kent, now aged 21, of Stafford, was sentenced to two years behind bars after pleading guilty to supplying class A drugs and possession with intent to supply class A drugs. The sentencing comes as Staffordshire Police continue to target serious ang organised crime, including drug dealing, as part of Operation Target.

Sergeant Thomas Fotherby, of Stafford Borough local policing team, said: “Kent was brazen in his illegal activities in Stafford in January 2020. After a brief struggle, we managed to detain him and found proof of his drug dealing at his home address.
“I am pleased Kent admitted his offending in court and that we have been able to get these dangerous substances off our streets. We continue to do all we can to disrupt the supply of drugs in our communities and make sure those responsible face significant time behind bars.”
