MINSK, 10 May (BelTA) – The economy needs new production facilities. They will contribute to improving the competitiveness of the Belarusian economy, to the development of regions, and to the creation of new jobs, BelTA learned from Belarusian First Deputy Economy Minister Yuri Chebotar.
Yuri Chebotar said: “According to our data alone, judging from the Economy Ministry monitoring over 800 manufacturing investment projects are being implemented in the country this year. They are aimed at modernizing existing production facilities and creating new ones.”
The head of state’s instruction to set up at least one promising production facility in every district is being fulfilled. “With this in mind a list of 129 projects has been put together and 51 import-substituting projects of utmost importance have been selected. Business initiatives from these two lists can apply for credit support from the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus and partner banks. I’d like to note that these lists can be supplemented upon proposals of the oblast administrations,” the official said.
Yuri Chebotar went on saying: “The economy needs new production facilities. They will contribute to improving the competitiveness of the Belarusian economy, to the development of regions, to the creation of new jobs and, as a result, to ensuring decent living standards of people. We are ready to discuss proposals on addressing systemic issues in order to enable comfortable conditions for investments. And certainly we welcome the private sector’s efforts in this area.”
