Nearly 5 in 10 or 49% of Singaporean workers were forced to remove career in their priorities because of burnout issues, prompting employers to reevaluate mental health support to raise employee well-being.
Employee Hero’s latest Employee Wellness Report polled 1,005 Singaporean employees, 62% of which said that they are suffering from burn out. Likewise, 57% said they have an average or poor work-life balance.
Their research also indicated that 68% of Singaporean workers are stressed about their finances, and 65% said that their stress levels were severely impacted by the effects of COVID-19 on the workplace.
Despite these results, the study found that Singaporean employers managed to impose changes in mental health support, with 47% of employees saying that their firm is very supportive of their mental health.
Nevertheless, 53% of employees feel uncomfortable disclosing their mental health issues and 49% said they are wary that reporting mental health issues, fearing that it would lead to repercussions in the workplace.
