New Year is that time of the year when one can look forward to the experiences that await us in the year ahead and one of the things most looked forward to are the films that are scheduled to be released. Like every year, 2023, also promises dozens of big films, starring top actors and made by the biggest directors. Here is the list of most awaited and best action movies of the year 2023.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is an American superhero film based on Marvel Comics featuring stars Scott Lang as Ant-Man and Hope Van Dyne as Wasp. The Movie is directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Marvel Studios.
Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible. The estimated production budget of this multi-starrer film is USD 200 Million.
Release Date – The film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, will be release worldwide on February 17, 2023.
John Wick Chapter 4
John Wick Chapter 4 is the fourth in the franchise of the American neo-noir action thriller movie and it is the sequel to John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019), it stars Keanu Reeves in the title character. The movie is directed by Chad Stahelski and produced by Summit Entertainment,Thunder Road Pictures and 87 Eleven Productions.
Wick uncovers a path to defeating the High Table. But before he can earn his freedom, Wick must face off against a new enemy with powerful alliances across the globe and forces that turn old friends into foes.
Release Date – John Wick: Chapter 4 will be released in United States on March 24, 2023.
Creed 3
Creed III is an upcoming American sports drama, It is the sequel of Creed II (2018) and the ninth instalment in the Rocky franchise. This is the first film in the franchise without Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa, The movie is directed by Michael B. Jordan and produced by Sylvester Stallone under the Balboa Productions banner.
In the movie, Adonis Creed Still dominates the boxing world and thrives in his career and family life. When Damian, a childhood friend, and former boxing prodigy resurfaces after serving time in prison, he’s eager to prove that he deserves his shot in the ring. Shazam! Fury of the Gods Transformers
Shazam! Fury of the Gods is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics character Shazam. Fury of the Gods It is the sequel to Shazam! (2019). The movie is directed by David F Sandberg and produced by DC Studios.
In this movie when Billy Batson and his foster siblings, who transform into superheroes by saying “Shazam!”, are forced to get back into action and fight the Daughters of Atlas, they must stop them from using a weapon that could destroy the world in which they must travel in order to make peace with the Gods because of Billy taking their powers for granted.
Release Date – Shazam! Fury of the Gods is scheduled to be released on March 17, 2023.
Fast and the Furious 10
The 10th film in Fast and the Furious franchise is also called Fast X. It is the sequel to F9 (2021), and the estimated production budget of movie is USD 340 Million. The Fast X cast just keeps getting bigger and bigger. In March 2022, after Aquaman (Jason Momoa), the Suicide Squad breakout start Daniela Melchior joined the franchise in an undisclosed role. The movie is directed by Louis Leterrier and produced by Original Film.
In the movie Following the events of F9 (2021), Cipher and Dante unite in their fight against Dominic Toretto and his crew, who are assisted by Tess.
Release Date – The Fast and the Furious 10 will be released in the United States on May 19, 2023
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3
Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team Guardians of the Galaxy. It is intended to be the sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017). The film is written and directed by James Gunn and produced by Marvel Studios.
In the movie, after purchasing Know here from the Collector, the Guardians of the Galaxy attempt to make it a safe haven for alien refugees. But after a brutal attack, Peter Quill must lead the Guardians on one last dangerous mission to protect one of their members which could lead to the team dissolves.
Release Date – Guardian of the Galaxy Vol 3 will be released on May 5, 2023 worldwide.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is an upcoming American computer-animated superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Miles Morales as Spiderman. The estimated production budget of the movie is USD 110 million. The movie is directed by Avi Arad and produced by Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation in association with Marvel Entertainment.
In the film, when Miles Morales is unexpectedly approached by his best friend and love interest Gwen Stacy to complete a mission to save every universe of Spider-People from a mysterious new villain who could cause a catastrophic disaster, Miles is up for the challenge. He and Gwen journey through the Multiverse together and meet its protectors, a group of Spider-People known as the Spider-Force. However, Miles finds himself at odds with both Spider-Force and Gwen on how to handle the threat.
Release Date – Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released on June 2, 2023 worldwide.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is an upcoming American science fiction action film based on Hasbro’s Transformers toy line and primarily influenced by the Beast Wars storyline. The film is the seventh movie in the Transformers film series. The movie is directed by Steven Caple Jr and produced by Skydance and Entertainment One.
The film starts in the year 1994, a pair of human archaeologists from Brooklyn come into an ancient conflict through a globetrotting adventure with the autobots those ties in with three factions of the Transformers race: the Maximals, the Predacons, and the Terror cons.
Release Date – Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will be released in United States on June 9, 2023.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is the latest in the franchise starring Tom Cruise. It is the sequel to Mission: Impossible – Fallout (2018) and is the seventh in the Mission: Impossible series. The film is directed by Christopher McQuarrie and produced by Skydance and TC Productions.
Release Date – Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One will be released in United States on July 14, 2023.
The Expendables 4
The Expendables 4 is another upcoming action movie and is the fourth in The Expendables franchise and the sequel to The Expendables 3 (2014). The famous actor Iko Uwais of The Raid (2011) will join this film, directed by Sylvester Stallone and produced by Millennium Media, Rogue Marble, Millennium Films and Nimar Studios.
The movie is based on scenario of a nuclear conflict between Russia and the United States that The Expendables team is drawn into.
Release Date – The Expendables 4 will be released in United States on September 22, 2023.
The trailer of John Wick Chapter 4 ,it shows John and Donnie Yen’s character sitting in a church making idle chit chat, before Donnie tells the seemingly-invincible hitman, “You are going to die”. But John is up for the challenge. We are then introduced to ‘new management’ in the criminal underworld of John’s world, led by a sinister-looking Bill Skarsgard, who looks quite intimidating even without clown makeup. Ian McShane’s character Winston informs John that if he beats Bill in single combat, he can earn his freedom from this hellhole…Ooo got the chills, eagerly waiting to release of John Wick Chapter 4 in March 24, 2023.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods will reunite most of the original cast and crew of the first film, as director David F. Sandberg is back onboard along with writer Henry Gayden and producer Peter Safran. Additionally, Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, and the rest of the main Shazam cast — Djimon Hounsou, Meagan Good, Grace Fulton, Ross Butler, D. J. Cotrona — reprised their roles for the sequel. Interestingly, in the sequel, Grace Fulton will be playing both the child and adult versions of her character. The villains in Shazam 2 will be ably conveyed by Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu. They’re playing Hespera and Kalypso respectively, known as The Daughters of Atlas.
