News: Alternative to IBDP with Vocational Focus
Continuing with its Personalised Pathways approach, Dulwich is set to launch its IB Careers-related Programme (IBCP) in August 2022. This is an exciting alternative to the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) for 16 to 19-year-olds who are looking for practical, real-life approaches to learning that will enable them access to higher education, internships, apprenticeships, or positions in a chosen field of interest. This pre-university pathway is based on the educational principles, vision, and learner profile of the IB and is specifically developed for students who wish to engage in career-related learning. Taught in more than 100 schools in 14 countries across the world, the IBCP particularly benefits students who have a real passion for a particular career pathway, so these are students who know they want to go into sports, performing arts or sustainability careers or they want to be an engineer or perhaps a computer coder. IBCP students develop rigour through academic and career-related courses, resulting in a more rounded understanding of a working environment while developing in areas such as communication, problem-solving and responsibility. Dulwich will be offering the following career-related options in August 2022: Business and Sustainability; Performance and Production Arts; Creative Practice: Art, Design and Communication; Sports; Engineering; and Digital Technology. News: Language Support for Non-native English Speakers

If they do not meet the minimum proficiency requirement, not to worry! They will be eligible (with the caveat of a small additional student services fee and limited availability) for ELL support, which is offered to students in Grades 1-12. Additionally, new to their ELL program this year is Level 3 support, offered to students in Grades 2-3. Students who receive Level 3 support are placed in a dedicated ELL homeroom class with other ELL learners, and receive direct support from trained ELL team members (they also don’t miss out on the Related Arts class offerings, integrating with mainstream learners during those periods). Learn more about Level 3 support here and learn more about the application process for the ELL program here.
