My Community Festival goes one step further this year, with its debut of a line-up of in-person programmes for people to check out, totaling 64 various tours and experiences on offer.
The activities from the festival see participants taking part in various forms of experiences to form a closer bond with the community and include activities like touring areas such as Changi Village for its wartime history, visiting unofficial enclaves formed by expatriate communities to learn more about their culture, and enjoying various cultural dishes from Singaporean, ASEAN, and international families in their homes.

See sculptures in a new light with National Gallery Singapore’s new Nothing is Forever: Rethinking Sculpture in Singapore exhibition.
Over seventy pieces of sculptures made by local artists are on display here, each ever so different from the next and prompts visitors to view these art objects differently. Sculptures showcased here delve into a variety of themes, including social revolt, climate change, and Sir Stamford Raffles of all people!

The Singapore Night Festival returns after a two-year hiatus and is putting a focus on the Bras Basah.Bugis (BBB) precinct and its people for its 13th edition.
Throughout the festival, visitors can check out the range of activities on offer, including 6 installations featuring projection mapping, 15 Night Lights installations, performances in 5 locations, 5 experiential programmes, and a Festival Village filled with an array of music performances which you can enjoy alongside the various dining experiences.
A highlight for visitors is the theatre performance by local art collective Vertical Submarine. Their show, Cathay Hotel: The Curse of the Missing Red Shoe, has audiences follow a detective story surrounding a mysterious curse that led to the separation of two lovers and changed the ending of the classic Cathay film Lion City (1960).

Singapore Sports Hub is taking the 2022 National Day celebrations up a notch with their first in-person National Day Fiesta since 2019!
This year’s fiesta features a full carnival experience, complete with face painting, airbrush DIY tattoo booths, game stalls and more! If you’re game, you can also join in the free mass dance workout where you can dance to the beat of national day tunes as you work up a sweat. Those wanting a challenge can check out the MMA masterclass led by Singaporean mixed martial arts star, Amir Khan, in a high-paced cardio-packed workshop.
There’s also the Amazing Sport Heritage 5+7 Challenge, where participants put on their detective glasses, find clues, and solve mysteries along Sports, Arts and Heritage trails at Sports Hub, unlocking interesting stories from the past. Finally, as the day winds down, catch the parade live at the OCBC Square & Stadium Roar as you watch alongside fellow Singaporeans via the big screen.

Ever wondered how Subway came to be? Now you can, with the recent opening of the Subway Big Museum of Taste in Singapore — the first sandwich-based museum in the country.
Subway’s history can be discovered through the museum’s nine never-before-seen interactive installations across four zones, including Instagrammable walls and trivia game at the ready. You can even become your own sandwich artist by assembling a virtual sub live! Finally, end the visit with a free cookie and Coca-Cola while browsing the merch store.

If you love plants, this event is for you. The Singapore Garden Festival is a flower and horticultural show showing visitors the beauty of tropical horticulture and floral artistry.
With the festival being held at two locations concurrently, visitors can experience a variety of programmes, including a Show Garden Competition, Landscape Design Challenge, and a MarketPlace for you to bring home a few of the beautiful plants that are showcased.

Keeping with the flower theme, Gardens by the Bay will spotlight Mexico’s culture and heritage in their new Hanging Gardens exhibition.
Among the highlights are handmade medallions from the Mexican community that are usually found during celebratory occasions, a vibrant display of showy blooms like cockscombs and marigolds, and a 4metre tall replica of the iconic Mayan Chichen Itza pyramid.
