From June to July, the median list price for a single-family home in the area dropped just 0.1% to $499,173, which is also not much of a change from last July. Las Vegas Review-Journal

U.K. Renters Spend Four Times More of Their Income on Housing Than Homeowners
Renters in the U.K. are spending nearly four times more of their income on rent than homeowners are spending on mortgages, signaling a worsening wealth gap in the country, according to research from Resolution Foundation. On average, renters are spending 34% of their income on rent, while homeowners are putting 9% of their income toward their mortgage. “Private renting remains the most expensive of all tenure types, despite continuing issues of quality and security,” said Cara Pacitti, senior economist at Resolution Foundation. A combination of less rental construction and landlords raising rents to pay for higher taxes has led to steep increases in rents. PropertyWire
Final Parcel of Former Rockefeller Estate in Connecticut Sells
The last remaining parcel of the Rockefeller family’s estate in Greenwich, Connecticut, has sold for $18.35 million. The 54 acres of woodland was purchased by Greenwich Academy, a private day school for girls. The plot of land had been in the family for more than 100 years, as John D. Rockefeller’s brother William A. Rockefeller began buying land in Greenwich in the 1870s. While Greenwich Academy has not announced specifically what the land will be used for, the school said there is a “wide range of opportunities,” including athletic facilities, sustainability initiatives and faculty housing.
