Even in defeat, Donald Trump continues to be the gift that keeps on giving to Democrats. His inane, self-serving political choices in the midterms gave Pennsylvania an added Democratic seat in the Congress and possibly control of the state House of Representatives.
Also, his appointment of ultra-conservative Supreme Court Justices gave Democrats, and all women nationwide, a reason to show up and vote against the anti-abortion Republicans. You simply cannot take away a woman’s right that she had for over 40 years and not pay a hefty price.
Nationwide, his hand-picked candidates collapsed like origami swans made from 50-year-old crumbling newspaper.
When announcing his candidacy for 2024, he regurgitated his presidential achievements, which exist only in his head, and he has now thrown the Republican Party into a frenzied nightmare because they know if he wins the primary nomination, they are assured defeat and if he loses the primary to another candidate he’ll circle his wagons of gun-toting, insurrectionists and either run in key states as an independent to divide the Republican vote or instruct his minions to vote for Democrats or not vote at all.
Donald Trump has demonstrated he has no mental capacity to accept defeat and go quietly into the night like most politicians do when they lose legitimate elections. This is an added blessing for the Democrats. If he is the nominee, he will again show that his coattails are only as long as sleeves on a vest.
