Dubai Development Sells Nearly 800 Units on Launch Day
Haven, a residential development in Dubai, sold 786 residences in a matter of hours on Wednesday, when it launched sales. A mix of single-family homes and townhouses, with prices starting at AED 2.5 million (US$680,646), were sold in the project, a joint venture between Dubai Holding and Aldar Properties, Abu Dhabi’s biggest developer. The total revenue equaled roughly US$844 million. Initially, 468 homes were going to be available for sale, but the developers added 318 additional properties due to “remarkable demand.” Construction is set to begin in the second quarter of 2024, with anticipated completion in 2027. Prices Rose While Home Sales Fell in Toronto Last Month
Home sales in the greater Toronto area fell 5.8% year over year as the lack of affordability and uncertainty associated with high borrowing costs has sidelined many would-be home buyers. The average price of a home rose 3.5% annually to C$1.125 million (US$815,569), while new listings jumped 38% compared to October 2022, which was a 12-year low. Record population growth and a relatively resilient economy have kept the overall demand for housing strong, and home sales are likely to pick up when mortgage rates decline, according to Paul Baron, the president of the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board. Perth Sees Biggest Price Growth Among Australian Capital Cities
Perth has emerged as Australia’s top-performing capital city market when it comes to price growth, registering a 10.9% increase in home prices over the past year. The growth rate is more than five times the historic average, and if it continues at the same pace as the past quarter, annual price growth in the Western Australia city could reach 12%.
