It’s the Holiday. Keep Your Spirits Bright

Dear Tiatira Com,
Christmas seems to begin earlier each year, but in one country, that’s by design.
The Philippines is known, of course, for its beauty and its biodiversity found in its more than 7,000 islands. And it is its celebration of Christmas that gives us a closer look at its heart.
As our correspondent John Magsaysay explains, the celebration of Christmas generally begins in and continues through the “ber” months – September to December and beyond. Is that creeping commercialization? Perhaps. But at its core, this nation has a deep, rich history, traditions grounded in faith and a strong foundation of family, which is its hope.
As you mark the holidays in your own ways, we wish each of you the joy that celebrations bring and the hope that is the gift of the new year.
Stay curious.
Warmest Regards, |

THE MESSAGE MAKES IT MAGIC |

Twelve days of Christmas? That’s for amateurs. In the Philippines, it’s many, many days of Christmas and beyond. Learn more about the traditions, the history behind them and the spirit that keeps the season focused on friends, family and feasting.

BLENDING OLD AND NEW TRADITIONS |
|
Part of the joy of the holidays is honoring old traditions and creating new ones. Silversea’s S.A.L.T. (Sea and Land Taste) program shares inspiration with recipes from Denmark’s Faroe Islands, Italy’s Sicily and Spain’s Málaga.
