The Chamber of Deputies has published on its website a list of 13 new petitions on topics such as youth protection and social networks, shortening the deadline for CNS repayments, or financial compensation for workers who are not eligible for telework. The petitions can be signed until 8 December.
On 28 October, the Chamber of Deputies published a list of 13 new petitions that can be signed online until 8 December 2022. A petition with more than 4,500 signatures will have a public hearing in the Chamber which will be broadcast live.
The following petitions were published:
1. A ban on social networks under the age of 16. (2474)
2. Declare Russia a state that supports terrorism. (2475)
3. Shorten the deadline for repayment of the CNS. (2478)
4. Refund the CNS share for feminine hygiene products (tampons, sanitary pads). (2480)
5. Additional day off/school leave on one’s birthday. (2483)
6. Eliminate energy advances (gas, electricity and water) by monthly bills for actual consumption. (2488)
7. The Luxembourg administration has a very paper-heavy communication system. (2492)
8. No further tram line through the city. (2494)
9. Index should be linked to the salary. (2496)
10. Financial compensation for essential workers not eligible for telework. (2502)
11. Development of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and new air defence systems by the Ministry of Defence. (2503)
12. Ensuring and improving useful, rapid and equal access to diagnostic imaging (mammography, colonoscopy, MRI, densitometry, CT, etc.). (2504)
13. Enshrine the right to unlimited cash payment in the Luxembourg Constitution. (2470)
In Luxembourg, there are two types of petitions: public petitions and simple petitions. A petition can be submitted by anyone who is at least 15 years old; is registered in the National Register of Natural Persons, i.e. has a national identification number. The author does not have to be a resident of Luxembourg, the petition must be submitted online or via paper form to the Chamber.
