Attorneys general from about two dozen states are seeking triple damages against Live Nation Entertainment and its ticket-selling unit Ticketmaster for allegedly monopolizing markets across the live concert industry in an updated version of a lawsuit originally filed in May. Read more.
The DOJ and several states sued three months ago to break up Live Nation, arguing the concert promoter and Ticketmaster illegally inflated concert ticket prices and hurt artists. On Monday, 10 states joined the lawsuit filed in Manhattan federal court, and 26 states and the District of Columbia added claims for triple damages on behalf of their residents.
