Have you guys ever gone to a party? In the AIR? Turns out you can actually have a party thousands of feet above the air.
We had the chance to join a trip organized by AirAsia to one of Asia’s most popular islands, Bali, Indonesia. The trip was a 2D1N stay on 11 & 12 November.
Even though it was only a short trip, it was such a fun journey!
AirAsia’s AK378 plane that took us from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA2) to Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) was not the same as any flight before this. This time, we had a party in the air.
This time around, the flight hosted a party in the air to celebrate its two awards from the 29th World Travel Awards 2022 which are:
Prior to this, AirAsia was also awarded the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline award for the 13th consecutive year by Skytrax World Airline Awards 2022. It’s a big year of awards for them.
We’re deeply humbled to be honoured with these wins once again after a tumultuous few years.
AirAsia’s has always strived to put our guests first, and to ensure affordable connectivity without compromising on comfort and so winning World’s Leading Low Cost Airline and World’s Leading Low Cost Airline Cabin Crew for the 10th and 6th time in a row, respectively is certainly one of the main highlights of the year.
At the same time, AirAsia has also made history after succeeding in flying almost 700 million passengers to various destinations worldwide, including Asean countries ever since its 21 years of operation.
Among the popular destinations that AirAsia customers love to visit are Bali, Singapore, HoChin Minh, Brunei and many more.
Commemorating their success with the awards and 21 years of carrying 700 million passengers, AirAsia hosted their first party in the air – they’re the first Asean airline company to do so too!
We partied in the air together with a few special guests such as DJ BATE and Airliftz. BATE is a duo consisting of Ethan Curzon and Yeoh Wai Hong while Airliftz or Alif Aolani, is an artist signed under RedRecords.
Before the party started, the President of Capital A (Commercial), Colin Currie played a fun Q&A with us. The winner luckily got a pair of tickets to one of AirAsia’s newly resumed destinations, New Zealand. If only we could answer quicker!

The party started off with some hip-hop music from DJ BATE. Among the songs that were played were FISHER – Losing It and The Weeknd – Blinding Lights. Meanwhile, Airliftz pumped up the show with a few of his songs – one of them titled Honest.
The first time above-the-air party received overwhelming support from the crowd of AK347 flight passengers on last Friday (11 November).
After landing at the Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) in Bali, Indonesia around 7.45 pm, we were brought to our accommodation – Hilton Garden Inn Bali Ngurah Rai Airport.
As soon as we arrived at the hotel, we checked in and headed out again for dinner at a popular seafood restaurant called Shrimpis. They’re apparently known for their fresh shrimp and oysters.
After dinner, we went back to our rooms and rested.
Our second day in Bali started at 8.30 pm with a complimentary breakfast from the hotel.
After breakfast, we had to pack our things because our flight back to Malaysia was at 2.15 pm. Yes, the trip wasn’t even 24 hours, but somehow, we made the best out of the short trip.
Before we headed back to the airport, we managed to go solo and explore a bit of Bali by ourselves. We took a Grab to BeachWalk Shopping Center, a mall near the beach in Bali.
What’s exciting about the mall is that it is directly beside the beach! The morning breeze from Kuta Beach was so calming and serene.
The good thing about this place was how you can be at two places in one go. Just pass the crossroad from the mall and you’re at the ocean.
A trip to Bali is never complete without a journey to its mesmerizing beach. We felt like we didn’t wanna go back home.
But, the time was indeed ticking. Even though we only manage to spend 30 minutes there, it was indeed one of the best 30 minutes ever spent in our lives.
After that, we walked back to the shopping center to find a cab headed to the airport.
Although it’s short, this was one of the most memorable trips that we’ve ever had. We’ll definitely look forward to coming to Bali again next time with our friends or family.
Thanks, AirAsia and till next time, Bali!
