Indonesia-based digital banking and finance platform Akulaku officially announced Akulaku PayLater’s partnership with China-based cross-border digital payment company Alipay+. The partnership allows Indonesian consumers, including merchants, to use Akulaku Paylater’s buy now pay later (BNPL) service as a payment method across the global Alipay+ ecosystem.
BNPL Akulaku Paylater allows individuals with limited credit history to access credit services. “This collaboration will provide a more advanced and convenient financial landscape for customers in Indonesia and throughout Southeast Asia,” Fan Zhang, Chief Financial Officer of Akulaku, said in an official statement Wednesday. Through integration with Alipay+, Akulaku targets to increase the number of merchants who accept Akulaku PayLater and increase the competitiveness of BNPL products.
