After years of gaming through the same engine, Nintendo has finally announced a fresh one for its fans. In the past, the Japanese giant used the NEX online system, which first came out on the 3DS in 2011. Since then, Nintendo never updated their system, limiting fans to a certain one throughout platforms.
However, after 11 years of grinding through the same one, the gaming company finally felt like dropping a new one. As a result, they experimented with it on Monster Hunter Rise and Pokemon Legends: Arceus. To their surprise, they received mind-blowing results, conditioning them to use it in all their upcoming games.

Nintendo has crowned the name “NPLN” for its new engine and confirmed that they have developed it themselves.
