Known as the ultimate tube-riding contest, The Rip Curl Cup Padang Padang is Indonesia’s longest-running and most prestigious surfing competition.
Bali, Indonesia – A serene hideaway situated between two of the world’s most iconic surf breaks, Impossible Beach and Padang-Padang reef, Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort has been confirmed as the official resort partner for The Rip Curl Cup Padang Padang 2022 surfing competition.
Known as the ultimate tube-riding contest, The Rip Curl Cup Padang Padang is Indonesia’s longest-running and most prestigious surfing competition. The exclusive, invitation-only event takes place between 1st – 31st August, providing a unique opportunity to showcase eight of the best Indonesian surfers against eight of the world’s most renowned and talented tube riders.
Perched on a limestone cliff overlooking a gorgeous beach that is accessible by elevator, Anantara Uluwatu’s rooms, suites and tropical communal areas offer uninterrupted views towards the Indian Ocean. Suite guests can soak up the surfing scene and Bali’s iconic sunsets from a private jacuzzi positioned to perfectly frame the setting sun on their suite’s terrace.
To watch the surfing action in the company of fellow wave-watchers and wave-chasers, guests can head to the resorts strategically positioned Botol Biru Bar and Grill. An elevated surfing shack, the bar boasts a breezy décor that takes inspiration from Bali’s thriving surfing culture. A striking mural commissioned from a local artist, Yokii, depicts Padang-Padang’s surf scene in the 1980s and 90’s. Overhead is a quirky light fixture featuring a flotilla of surfboards suspended mid-air as if poised to catch the next wave. On the menu are coastal cuisines from the Indian Ocean to the Mediterranean, as well as creative cocktails, local craft beer and more.
