On September 7, Apple introduced iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, these phones come with a new Dynamic Island feature, which in our find is truly stolen/taken/inspired by Huawei smartphones. How? Let’s find out.
Before we cut to the chase, let’s find out what Dynamic Island actually is.
Apple has outcasted the notch with a new face id module. This head part of the display consists of a pill shape and a single hole punch to house face id sensors and a selfie camera. Then, both of these punch holes are placed inside a maximized pill shape module.
However, Apple has shown its creativity with the introduction of Dynamic Island, which responds when you interact with recent apps, receive notifications, or play music. The face id area now works as a mini taskbar with a bunch of alerts and showcases.
Has Apple stolen the dynamic island feature from Huawei?
On December 26, 2018, Huawei launched Honor View20 AKA Honor V20 smartphone, it was the company’s first phone to feature a hole punch display. To be mentioned, it was one of the first smartphones in the market to come with such a screen design.
That’s not it, the company has brought in a new feature Capsule. While on call, the phone generates a capsule or pill shape animation on the right side of the front camera, showing the ongoing call duration.
Furthermore, the feature also reminds users of posture while taking selfies from the front camera. The feature was very smooth and intriguing for the consumers.
Honor V20 is such an example, which launched pre-breakup between Honor and Huawei. However, it shows the significant achievement of the company that has become a sensation for the next-gen iPhone devices.
Yes, we know that Apple has its own way of doing things, and perfecting what Android manufacturers have already achieved in the past but still, it has stolen from Huawei and presented with iPhone 14.

The transition to 5G phones is emerging in various markets and people want to test the benefits of upgrading from 4G. However, a new report reveals that 4G phones are still selling strong in China and South Korea.
According to a report from Strategy Analytics, China and South Korea have been the fastest countries to deploy 5G services for smartphones but 4G phones are still in demand in these two major 5G markets.
The data shows that the penetration rate of 4G phones in China is still quite stable, with a penetration rate of 19% in the first quarter of 2021 and 15% in the fourth quarter of 2021.
In the first three quarters of 2022, the penetration rate is somewhat stable, averaging around 14%. The report mentions that South Korea also follows a similar trend and has a penetration rate of around 19%.
It’s expected there could be many reasons of 4G phones are still more favorable as compared to 5G. On the other hand, it could also be due to the unawareness of 5G among smartphone owners, as they refuse to upgrade to a new network.
In some cases, users reported that they found 4G better than 5G in both security and stability in different areas.
Huawei Mate 50:
Due to U.S. sanctions, Huawei is restricted to sell the 4G Huawei Mate 50 series and it sold quite well among consumers.
On the other hand, Huawei chose to improve Wi-Fi and network aggregation to provide the best 4G and WLAN experience for the Mate 50 series.
The company is showcasing an onsite comparison of 4G vs 5G to demo that the new Mate 50 series performs better even without 5G in terms of network speed.
