Beijing's military exercise could disrupt regional supply chains
SINGAPORE — Thai Airways is the latest Asian air carrier to announce it will avoid flying to or around Taiwan due to China’s ongoing military drills near the island, as analysts warn the disruptions could weigh on regional supply chains.
Thai Airways has rerouted service to Japan and South Korea by mainly flying through Philippine airspace, the flagship carrier announced on Friday, following a Thai government advisory to all the country’s airlines to avoid airspace around Taiwan through Sunday.
