6/10/2022 7:59pm
The Repco Bathurst 1000 is underway in the Central Tablelands of New South Wales with the big race on Sunday. For Friday and Saturday there is plenty of heavy rain moving through, while Sunday morning starts off wet but then should dry out as low pressure and rain-bands move to the coast and out to the Tasman Sea.
Heaviest rain will be on Saturday and total rainfall accumulation over the next 72 hours is around 30 to 40mm, with some localised falls (and isolated thunderstorms Friday or Saturday) potentially lifting that total over 50mm or 60mm.
But Sunday, for the big race, is when it clears away with a colder, lighter, southerly coming through. Daytime highs of around 17/18C on Friday and Saturday will give way to a colder +13C on Sunday. (There will be snow further south on the mountains around A.C.T and NSW to give you an indication as to how cold the change is!).
The rain event over the next 48 hours for NSW is a significant one – please keep up to date with local BoM weather warnings.
