MINSK, 25 May (BelTA) – Azerbaijan is an extremely important and reliable partner for Belarus, both bilaterally and internationally, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Leonid Zayats said at the event to mark Azerbaijan’s Independence Day and the 30th anniversary of the Belarusian-Azerbaijani diplomatic relations on 24 May, BelTA has learned.
“The Republic of Azerbaijan is rapidly developing its economy, strengthening its statehood and its role in the international arena thanks to its successful domestic and foreign policy. The country is confidently following the course outlined by its leader and fully supported by its people. And we, as good friends, are sincerely glad for your success,” Leonid Zayats said.
In his words, the two countries have been developing bilateral relations across all the areas. “We have no closed topics for discussion. Interaction between Minsk and Baku has always been extremely positive and constructive, based on mutual respect and trust. As history has shown, we have become even more united in difficult times,” the deputy prime minister said.
Leonid Zayats also stressed: “Mutually beneficial economic cooperation is the flagship of further development of relations between Belarus and Azerbaijan. We keep increasing mutual supplies of the main commodity items.”
The deputy prime minister focused on the export of Belarusian products to Azerbaijan and emphasized the development of industrial cooperation and expansion of the range of jointly produced goods.
Leonid Zayats also noted the importance of the exchange of delegations at the high and highest levels.
