Greetings, !
British Columbia’s finance Committee has recommended reviewing their online marketplace tax following an RCC presentation to the Legislature’s Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services last month.
B.C.’s Finance committee report from August, 2022, contains the following line: “The Committee reflected on the need to ensure competitiveness for BC-based online marketplaces and agreed that implementation of the PST on these services should be reviewed to ensure the intended outcome of the tax is being achieved.”
RCC is pleased that legislators recognized the potential inequities and agreed to RCC’s request that the new tax be reviewed.
