Cailian Press reported on July 21 that BAIC Motor’s vehicle brand Beijing Motor will launch its “Rubik’s Cube” SUV on July 28. This is China’s first fuel-powered car with Huawei’s HarmonyOS intelligent cockpit, and it also adopts the Huawei Kirin 990A high computing power chip.
In November 2021, BAIC Motor released the C52X, naming it the Rubik’s Cube, and launching six models in total. On June 24 this year, the Rubik’s Cube model officially opened for pre-sale, priced between 102,900 yuan and 153,900 yuan ($15,208 – $22,745).
The Rubik’s Cube comes with Amap, NetEase Cloud Music, Ximalaya, Kuaishou and other apps, and it is seamlessly interconnected with Huawei smartphones, watches and other equipment.
Its length, width, height and wheelbase are 4,620mm, 1,886mm, 1,680mm and 2,735mm respectively. The car has hidden door handles and a “Beijing” logo on the taillights.
Equipped with AR-HUD, the Rubik’s Cube SUV has a projection area of 60 inches and a resolution of 854 × 420 pixels. It can directly project and display information such as instruments, real-life navigation and driving assistance on the front windshield, and it provides functions such as navigation intersection guidance and driving assistance. In terms of power, the Rubik’s Cube is powered by a Magic Core 1.5 T engine, with maximum power of 138kW and maximum torque of 305 N • m. It takes 7.8 seconds for the vehicle to be accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h.

In terms of safety, the car features a high computing power domain controller, five millimeter wave radars, one front-view camera, four scanning cameras, one face recognition camera, 12 ultrasonic radars, Bosch’s fifth-generation millimeter wave radar and a third-generation front-view camera. This equipment supports L3 automated driving assistance.
