TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Low-cost carrier Batik Air announced a new travel option that connects Indonesia to South Korea. “It will start in June 2023,” the airline’s spokesperson Danang Mandala Prihantoro said on Wednesday, April 5.
The international routes will operate Boeing 737-800NG aircraft consisting of 12 business-class seats and 150 economy-class seats. The flights will arrive at one of the world’s best air gateways, Incheon International Airport in South Korea.
Travelers will get to transit at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia, then continue the trip using Batik Air Malaysia.
Danang explained the benefits for business people and tourists who fly from Indonesia to South Korea via transit in Kuala Lumpur. One of them is more affordable flight tickets.
Batik Air provides a flight network from six cities in Indonesia to South Korea. They are Medan – Kualanamu International Airport in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, Jakarta – Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang (CGK), Yogyakarta – Yogyakarta Kulonprogo International Airport (YIA), Surabaya – Juanda International Airport in Sidoarjo, East Java (SUB), Denpasar – I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Badung, Bali (DPS), and Makassar – Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Maros, South Sulawesi (UPG).
“Business people and travelers coming from other cities can choose one of the six cities to take flights to South Korea via Kuala Lumpur,” said Danang.
