YEKATERINBURG, 11 July (BelTA) – Several strategically important documents to advance cooperation between Belarus and Russia were signed on the sidelines of the International Industrial Fair Innoprom 2023 in Yekaterinburg, Russia. BelTA has learned.
Four important documents were signed during the business forum “Industrial Dialogue: Russia – Belarus” organized by the ministries of industry and bringing together industrialists from both countries.
Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Parkhomchik and Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov of Russia signed an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation to develop the machine tool industry.
The other documents included the agreement on mutual understanding and cooperation between BelAZ – BelAZ Holding Company and the Russian Export Center, the cooperation agreement between the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Russian Export Center, as well as the comprehensive interdepartmental program in aircraft manufacturing.
Piotr Parkhomchik noted that the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation have long enjoyed special relations of strategic partnership. According to him, the Innoprom platform is a great opportunity to sum up the results, discuss current problems of industrial development, find new partners, sign important contracts and other documents.
The momentum of cooperation between the two states remains in place, he stressed. “We highly appreciate the trust of the Russian Federation. We have become closer in recent years. As you know, the Russian Federation has provided a $1.5 billion credit line, and our country has prepared 17 investment projects that have been approved by the Russian government. These investment projects are important for Belarus. They are also designed to advance industrial cooperation, to replace imports,” the deputy prime minister said.
Piotr Parkhomchik noted that as a result of this work, the technologies and enterprises that will be created in the next two or three years will solve the problems that have arisen at the present time, taking into account certain actions by the unfriendly countries.
Denis Manturov noted that “we have grown in our understanding that we need a common industrial policy in the Union State since 2014. Now this work is yielding results. Now there are no restrictions and cooperation will develop in all areas: from the traditional agriculture to the new ones such as aircraft construction.
