The Monash Blockchain Technology Centre is, its website says, on "the blockchain innovation journey." The aim of the center is to develop new technologies to use in blockchain systems, design and teach blockchain courses and programs across curriculums, and provide training for different sectors of industry. It has produced protocols including RepuCoin, a blockchain system with advanced consensus protocol that is able to tolerate the well-known 51% of attacks.
Events at Monash have included the Monash Blockchain Hackathon, a Fintech Bootcamp, and conferences about blockchain and financial technology. Furthermore, students formed the Monash Blockchain Society and Monash Blockchain Alliance.
Monash University currently offers two courses and a Masters in Cybersecurity, which includes learning about blockchain. The university also offers online certificates about blockchain.
