Housing Sentiment in the U.S. Jumps to Highest Level Since March 2022
Consumer sentiment in housing rose in January to the highest level in nearly two years, as people felt more confident about their jobs and expected mortgage rates to fall. The sentiment was measured in a monthly survey by Fannie Mae. The Home Purchase Sentiment Index rose 3.5 points in January to 70.7—the highest level since March 2022. U.K. House Prices Saw Their Largest Annual Increase in January
House prices in the U.K. rose 2.5% year over year in January, marking the strongest annual growth rate in a year, according to Halifax. On a monthly basis, home prices increased by 1.3%—the fourth consecutive monthly increase in price and the largest monthly gain since June 2022.
