West Ham United transfer target Mykhailo Mudryk could well be heading to Arsenal at some point in the near future.
The Hammers are thought to be battling it out with Arsenal to sign the exceptionally gifted Ukraine international, according to the likes of The Express.
The 21-year-old has already admitted that he would like to join Arsenal.
And now West Ham have been dealt an even bigger blow…
Mykhailo Mudryk has been in sensational form for Shakhtar so far this season, with seven goals and seven assists to his name in 13 games (Transfermarkt).
He’s bagged three goals and two assists in six Champions League games as well (Transfermarkt)!
It seems as though the young attacker might soon be plying his trade in North London rather than East London though…
When speaking to Football 24, Shakhtar Donetsk goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin said:
I like that he is focused only on himself, his and the team’s game. Fans don’t really see that much. No one sees what he is doing away from the football field. All these transfer rumours affect him only in a positive way, because he enjoys what he does. And, in the team, we can tell him; ‘well, you’re already at Arsenal, let’s all go!
Whether Trubin actually has any inside info is unclear.
Either way, the goalkeeper’s comments are a big boost for Arsenal, and a blow for West Ham.
The young winger is a real talent.
He possesses impressive pace, exemplary technique and has a real hunger to prove himself at the very highest level.
Chris Sutton recently described the young attacker as ‘rapid’.
We’d be delighted if the Hammers signed Mykhaylo Mudryk either in January or next summer.
Unfortunately for West Ham though, it seems for all the world that the 21-year-old will be Arsenal bound.
