SINGAPORE: Both Singapore teams in the table tennis women’s doubles reached the semi-finals of the 2022 Commonwealth Games after overcoming their opponents on Saturday (Aug 6).
Feng Tianwei and Zeng Jian, who will face each other in the singles final on Sunday, came back from one game down to defeat Australia’s Feng Chunyi and Liu Yangzi 3-1 (9-11, 11-7, 11-7, 11-3).
Wong Xin Ru and Zhou Jingyi beat the Indian duo of Akula Sreeja and Tennison Reeth 3-1 (16-14, 13-11, 6-11, 11-8) to set up a semi-final match against Australia’s Jee Minhyung and Lay Jian Fang on Sunday.
Feng and Zeng will play the Welsh duo of Charlotte Carey and 16-year-old Anna Hursey.
