MINSK, 18 August (BelTA) – Brest is set to host the 12th twin city forum of Belarus and Russia on 28-30 September, Boris Batura, Chairman of the Belarusian organization Twin Cities, told BelTA.
The event will highlight the issues of Belarusian-Russian economic and business cooperation, exchange of experience in social security, including education, culture and tourism. The program of the forum will also include a youth meeting which will focus on patriotic education. The participants of the event (more than 150 people) are expected to visit Brest enterprises and institutions, including the Brest Hero Fortress.
The previous twin city meeting of Belarus and Russia, dedicated to strengthening the Union State in the face of external challenges and threats, took place in Pskov on 14-16 October. The event was attended by about 60 Belarusian and Russian cities. Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin sent messages of greetings to the participants and guests of the forum.
