The company said “like many manufacturers” it regularly reviews its product range and had decided to stop manufacturing the bar because of low sales.
“The decision was made recently to discontinue the 45g Europe Sesame Bar,” Mondelez-owned Europe said.
Popular food blogger Russ Eats posted a TikTok revealing the bar was no longer on supermarket shelves.
“We thought it was supply issues with sesame seeds, which has been happening, but no, it’s got the axe,” he said.
Fans of the sweet treat expressed their disappointment in the comments.
“Noooo I loved those!” one user said.
“Sesame Bar is the greatest … what a sad day,” another added.
“If they get rid of the Summer Roll then we will riot,” a third piped in.
Russ added the Jupiter Bar, also manufactured by the Europe group, had also been discontinued.
“Never forgive. Never forget. They took our Jupiter Bar from us,” one upset user commented.
Last month Russ revealed McDonald’s Australia scrapped a popular soft drink from its menu, replacing the original Sprite with a no-sugar version.
McDonald’s confirmed to 7NEWS.com.au the change had been made at restaurants across the country.
“McDonald’s Australia has recently moved to Sprite No Sugar across its restaurants nationwide,” it said.
“We look forward to hearing customer feedback on the new beverage option.”
Unhappy social media users vented in the comments section of Russ’s TikTok, with many arguing the fast food giant had removed their favourite drink.
“NOOO. McDonald’s Sprite was the best drink,” one said.
“They removed the best drink,” another wrote.
“What’s everyone gonna do to fix their hangover now? We need the little sugar rush,” another pointed out.
