BDO has appointed a new partner to its advisory practice. The professional services firm has recruited Carly Bleatham to lead its finance function offering.
Paul Eagland, Managing Partner at BDO, commented, “Appointing talented individuals like Carly is crucial to BDO as we continue to grow our advisory practice. I have no doubt that Carly’s knowledge and experience will see her offer both new and existing clients the valuable advice they require to help them succeed.”
The appointment comes as many UK clients of BDO look to navigate a challenging economic period – with firms needing to find ways to financially safeguard their operations. At the same time, other businesses are demonstrating resilience and ambition through international growth or M&A activity, which also sees more firms turning to advisors for insights on where to best spend.
Bleathman joins the firm’s business services and outsourcing (BSO) team to lead its finance function advisory offering. Based in London, she will be working with high growth, mid-market businesses, driving forward several projects including BDO’s finance function of the future offering and the ongoing development of a broader CFO services proposition.
Over the course of her career, Bleathman has held several finance roles both in practice and in industry including working as Group Financial Controller for an AIM listed business, a Project Accountant focusing on pre-IPO work and listing, and as Finance Director of a high growth private equity backed business. In particular, she has a number of years of experience dealing with IPO readiness, fundraising, investor reporting, digital transformation and international expansion out from the UK.
Commenting on her appointment, Bleathman noted, “Ambitious, entrepreneurially-spirited businesses are the driving force behind the UK economy and the client heartland of BDO’s BSO practice. I’m looking forward to working with the high-performing team and these businesses to support them throughout their growth journey and help them achieve their long-term goals.”
