MARCH 4, 2022 — The UTSA Carlos Alvarez College of Business Executive MBA (EMBA) program ranked No. 8 globally and tied for first place in North America by CEO Magazine in its 2022 Global MBA Rankings. The UTSA MBA was ranked as a Tier One Global MBA program.
“This ranking reflects the quality of our program offerings, not just in Texas, but throughout the world,” said Juan Manuel Sanchez, associate dean of graduate studies and research. “Students in our programs obtain critical business knowledge, leadership skills and a strategic mindset that helps propel them to the next level of their careers.”
Using a fact-based ranking system, CEO Magazine evaluated MBA programs based on the following areas: quality of faculty, international diversity, class size, accreditation, faculty-to-student ratio, price, international exposure, work experience, professional development, gender parity and delivery methods.
“This ranking is a validation of our program’s reputation,” said Albert Huang, faculty director of the EMBA program. “Our highly-experienced faculty have created a rigorous and comprehensive EMBA program that is agile and innovative to meet the needs of business professionals. We always strive to be the program of choice in Texas.”
The 21-month EMBA program is designed for aspiring professionals looking to become inspiring leaders. The cohort program features general management and health professionals tracks and focuses on advancing the skills and knowledge that individuals need to solve the evolving challenges of today’s fast-paced economy.
Comprised of working professionals, the 36-hour MBA program provides an intensive business education. With flexible scheduling in the evenings, students study in smaller class settings that allow them to network with colleagues who possess a variety of life experiences.
CEO Magazine launched its annual Global MBA Rankings in 2012. This year’s ranking included more than 180 schools from Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, New Zealand, North America and South America.

The Racial Justice Book Club was established at UTSA by members of the campus community to explore social justice following acts of racial violence across the nation over the last few years. We are reading The Injustice Never Leaves You: Anti-Mexican Violence in Texas by Monica Muñoz Martinez. We will meet every Wednesday in September and October at 2 pm on Zoom.
In partnership with SA Digital Connects, HCAP will host a Lecture on Digital Divide in San Antonio.
“La Plática” is a space for thoughtful dialogue to build a sense of connection among the Roadrunner Community by getting to know each other better and sharing what’s on our minds and about ourselves to increase to increase awareness of diverse perspectives.
The UTSA Hispanic Heritage Month Planning Committee is hosting internationally acclaimed poet, writer, storyteller, author, and San Antonio native Dr. Carmen Tafolla. Dr. Tafolla will be sharing her experiences, inspirations, and writing.
This September 30, the Friday Series will feature Prof. Milena Ang, who will be presenting A Tren to Nowhere: Statistic Development and the Politics of Racial, a paper co-authored with Tania Islas-Weistein where they discuss Mexico’s long history of state-led development projects that contribute to economic and racial inequality. The authors argue that despite professing racial justice, official discourses surrounding the Tren Maya reproduce existing symbolic and material forms of racism.
The UTSA Libraries will be hosting a panel discussion on Latiné/x-centric voting and voting rights!
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our campus community a safer, more caring place to learn. It will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Main campus from 6:00pm-8:00pm on the Student Union Paseo.
