Citi is all set to adopt a new work model globally that classifies staff into three types of roles, to help identify the best model of flexibility and help them achieve better work and life balance. This marks the launch of Citi’s globally consistent, long-term, and flexible work model, whereby Citi Singapore is part of the first phase of the global launch that is slated for 15 countries.
The new way of working is applicable to Citi Singapore’s 8,500 strong total headcount, and is aimed to “best support colleagues while still providing excellent service to clients”, per the statement shared with HRO.
Under this new model, employees around the globe have been classified into three globally consistent role designations:
In Singapore, a vast majority of staff have been designated as hybrid and it is the primary work schedule for the franchise.
Sarab Preet Singh, Citi’s ASEAN and Singapore Head of Human Resources commented: “Designed to meet the unique needs of our diverse employees, ‘How We Work’ will enable all of the advantages that working together in person brings while providing additional opportunities that support our colleagues’ overall wellbeing.”
Noting the advantages that Singh mentioned, Citi’s new way of work is grounded in the belief that staff are better when together due to the many advantages of working together in person, which includes:
