Slutsk, one of the oldest cities in the country, was founded on the banks of the Sluch River more than a thousand years ago. The district center has been declared Belarus’ Capital of Culture 2023. The name of the city is widely known in Belarus and abroad thanks to the Slutsk sashes, Saint Sophia of Slutsk and Princess Anastasia of Slutsk. Modern Slutsk is home to more than 60,000 peopl and over 20 industrial enterprises.
