The team behind luxury restaurant brand Tattu have submitted a license application to build a brand new Greek venue in Manchester.
According to the application, a new venue under the name Fenix Restaurants will be located in Enterprise City, which is part of Allied London’s new St. John’s Development.
The application suggests the venue will feature a split level restaurant and bar with space for over 200 guests.
This will all be connected by a dramatic spiral staircase.
Fenix
Adam Jones, the co-founder of Permanently Unique Group which operates Tattu, said of his newest venture: “Our first restaurant brand Tattu started here in Manchester and thanks to the incredible reception it received, we quickly became the fastest growing restaurant in the UK, opening locations in five major cities, including a rooftop flagship in central London this year.
“Therefore, it was only right to return to our home city to launch our second culinary venture.
“Inspired by Cycladic philosophies and modern Greek fusion cuisine, Fenix is a vibrant dining concept that will marry Mykonian influence with high-quality service standards and hospitality.

“Fenix will bring a truly unique and energetic experience to Manchester’s now celebrated restaurant scene.”
Fenix promises to be an exciting addition to the string of new premium hospitality openings at St John’s, which is also set to welcome Soho House, Molly’s and Cecconis in 2023.
An opening date is yet to be announced for Fenix, and development is still in its early stages.

McDonald’s has launched its new menu today, and there are some seriously tasty new additions.
The fast food chain announced the menu shake-up last week, which included the departure of the long-serving Chicken Legend burger and the beloved Big Tasty.
But as old favourites depart, five new and exciting additions have made their debut.
For the first time in the restaurant’s history, mini potato waffles have been added to the breakfast menu to accompany the staple hash brown side.
McDonald’s
They are served as a portion of three, and are available on their own for £1.39 or as part of a breakfast meal.
The waffles are joined by two new burgers, including the BBQ Bacon Stack, which was axed from the menu in July last year.
The burger, made with two British and Irish beef patties, pepper jack cheese and bacon, will set you back £6.89 for a large meal.
The McCrispy burger – a crunchy chicken fillet in a sourdough-style bun with lettuce and mayonnaise – will also become a permanent addition to the menu from today.
McDonald’s
Nacho Cheese wedges will be added to the menu on October 26th, and will be available as a portion of five or as a share-box.
The wedges will come loaded with melted nacho cheese and spicy Jalapeno slices, and covered in a crunchy coating. They will also be served with Maccies’ signature sour cream and chive dip.
And for those with a sweet tooth, a brand new Twirl McFlurry has today joined the menu. It is made with ice cream and chunks of Cadbury’s Twirl with a tasty milk chocolate sauce.
All the new items – apart from the permanent McCrispy Burger – will be available in all McDonald’s stores for the next six weeks.

Two pubs located within short proximity to Manchester have been named among the best in the country for their Sunday roasts.
The Cholmondeley Arms in Malpas, Cheshire, featured in the Guardian’s top thirty Sunday roasts list for 2022, where it was praised for its ‘pedagogic tradition’ and ‘nostalgic puddings’.
Known locally as ‘The Chum’, the pub and B&B is found within an old schoolhouse that was converted in the 1980s, and boasts a menu of food made lovingly with locally sourced ingredients.
On the starters menu, there are pheasant goujons, devilled lamb’s kidneys and a ‘pub and seafood’ platter to share.

And as for the roast itself, The Chum is famed for its twenty-eight-day-aged sirloin steak, which is served with all the trimmings including Yorkshire puddings, duck fat roasted potatoes, seasonal greens, and a homemade red wine gravy.
There’s also roasted chicken supreme, a selection of fish dishes and even a game menu including a braised venison haunch.
Also mentioned in the Guardian’s list is the Higher Buck in Waddington, Lancashire, which was hailed for delivering ‘technically rigorous dishes while maintaining a warm country-pub buzz’.

This pub was celebrated not only for its traditional roast selection, but also for its homely ‘pub grub’ dishes that double down as an excellent Sunday lunch.
The Guardian writes: “Expect a friendly welcome, Thwaites beers and a crowd-pleasing kids’ menu, plus cooking that, even with pub staples such as smoked bacon and Lancashire cheese burger or beer-battered haddock and chips, is consistently elevated by Heathcote’s assured touch – and high-quality ingredients from the surrounding Ribble Valley.”
The Higher Buck’s cheddar soufflé, king prawn bhajis and crispy duck and chorizo salad also got a mention.

A ‘no nonsense’ butty shop serving up a menu of comforting and homely dishes is opening in Manchester today.
Courtesy of the team behind Manchester’s award-winning street food venue GRUB, CAFF encapsulates the best elements of a classic sandwich shop – simple, comforting and delicious food served in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
CAFF aims to be ‘refreshingly simple’ and, in doing so, rejects the complication of strict diets and the trend of ‘avocado on everything’, hence its slogan: “No avo, no keto, just baps”.
The menu boasts a mixture of classic British delicacies, including freshly made breakfast rolls and traditional cold sandwiches, alongside other grab-and-go convenience foods like pastries and snacks.

All CAFF’s ingredients are also sourced from local family-run butchers and bakers, such as Robinsons Artisan Family Bakery of Failsworth and Littlewoods Butchers of Heaton Moor.
Jason Bailey, the owner and founder of CAFF, said: “We’ve taken the classic northern butty shop that’s existed for generations and thrown it into the mix with our approach to supporting proper local producers.
“We can’t wait to give the people of Manchester a proper feed.”
Jamie Hills, landowner and developer of the First Street Estate where CAFF is located, added: “We’re pleased to support a local, independent business with CAFF.
CAFF
They will provide a quality and good value breakfast and lunch offering to the First Street neighbourhood, specialising in no-nonsense great butties.
“CAFF will add to our diverse mix of operators at First Street where we continue to attract new businesses and employers to the estate.”
CAFF is open TODAY, and will operate from Monday-Friday, 8am-3pm. It can be found at its new home inside First Street’s food and drink kiosk at Tony Wilson Place.
