It only opened in 2019, but a Collingwood without Falco Bakery already seems unfathomable. Luckily, there’ll soon be two.
The team – also behind Carlton Italian diner Capitano and Fitzroy wine spot Bar Liberty – is opening a second Falco location on Langridge Street, just off Hoddle Street, next month.
Smith Street gained an instant classic in Falco, which – in its three-year tenure – has staked its claim as one of the best bakeries on the strip. The sandwiches and pies are god-tier, the cardamom bun is the stuff of (slightly spiced) daydreams, and the peanut butter and miso cookie filled a void we didn’t know needed filling. In other words, head baker and co-owner Christine Tran can do no wrong.
At the new spot – in an old barbeque restaurant – expect all the usual suspects, as well as the return of the kouign-amann, plus new items such as filled bagels.
Falco is opening at 156–158 Langridge Street, Collingwood in February.
