When the line is fully operational, almost half its stations will be interchange stations connecting it with other lines. The first interchanges include Pasir Ris, Clementi, Hougang, Ang Mo Kio, Bright Hill and King Albert Park.
The head of national police, several top interior ministry officials and two children were also among the dead. The cause of the crash has yet to be determined.
