The prime minister says a collective decision will be made if Barisan Nasional cannot form a new government after the polls.
Any decision to cooperate with other parties if Barisan Nasional (BN) is unable to form a new government after the 15th general election (GE15) will be made by the coalition and not by individuals, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob says.
The Umno vice-president said this included the possibility of BN collaborating with PKR.
“Such a big decision like this must be made by the party, not any individual. Whether we want to do it (collaborate) with PKR, or PN (Perikatan Nasional) or PH (Pakatan Harapan), the party will decide,” he told reporters in Alor Gajah today.
Meanwhile, on rumours that Nov 18 would be announced as a special public holiday and that salaries for civil servants would be paid on Nov 17, Ismail said an announcement would be made soon.
“It has been viral on social media today, but please wait for my announcement,” he said.
Ismail had earlier gone on a walkabout and met with the people in Durian Tunggal.
With him were Melaka Chief Minister Sulaiman Md Ali and BN candidate for Alor Gajah Shahril Sufian Hamdan.
