Your Role…
The successful candidate will be part of the Collaborative and Socio-Technical Systems group (COaST), which operates the VR/AR Lab with cutting-edge
technology for immersive experiences.
Working under the supervision of Dr. Jean Botev and Prof. Steffen Rothkugel, the candidate will engage in research related to the various educational
systems developed within the COaST group, including the collaborative, context-aware mobile training and exploration framework CollaTrEx.
Mediated reality, including virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR), has enormous potential for enhancing the
overall user experience and the effectiveness of such systems. User studies in different contexts and age
groups, e.g., related to memory retention, will validate the research.
* Conducting research in the context of educational systems and preparing a doctoral dissertation
* VR/AR development for prototyping and simulation of dedicated, interactive scenarios
* Disseminating results through scientific publications
* Contributing to teaching and co-supervising students
What we expect from you…
The candidate should be a self-motivated, critically-reflecting team worker and possess:
* A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Game Design, or a closely related discipline
* Good programming skills; ideally, previous experience in VR/AR and game development
* A proven interest in interdisciplinary research and a record of initiative
* English language proficiency, written and spoken
