Considered “a heavenly night under the stars at the Getty Villa’s majestic Outdoor Theater” by the Los Angeles Times, The Gospel at Colonus follows the blinded Oedipus as he arrives at the town of Colonus, near Athens, seeking rest after a lifetime of tragedy. Soulful and stirring, this one-of-a-kind theatrical event blends Greek myth with Black spiritual practice, reimagining the story of Oedipus as the centerpiece of a redemptive musical celebration.
