The Lionesses face the team which currently occupy fourth place in Group D at the bet365 Stadium, home of Stoke City, on Tuesday 6 September.
The Football Association have received a major boost in ticket sales for England matches since the Lionesses won the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 last month and it has today been confirmed that the remaining tickets for the Luxembourg fixture have now been sold. Sarina Wiegman’s side will therefore be cheered on by close to 30,000 fans in The Potteries next month.
The Luxembourg match is England’s final FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023 qualifier. Should England get any positive result against Austria three days earlier, they will arrive in Stoke having already secured their place at next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup finals. The Luxembourg game is expected to be an occasion in which fans can celebrate the nation’s UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 success along with qualification for next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Both of England’s next two matches on home soil have now sold out. In addition to the Luxembourg game, England’s home friendly against the United States in October has also been declared a sell-out.
All remaining tickets for our @FIFAWWC qualifier with Luxembourg have now sold out.
Thank you for your amazing support. We can’t wait to see you all at @stokecity! ? https://t.co/HsP7r7wwWv
