The fact that the Leith Waterfront Premier Inn is last place on this list with an average score of 4.5/5 should tell you something about their quality. While there are a few mediocre reviews, most TripAdvisor users agreed that the hotel was at least serviceable.
What one visitor said: "Very basic and needs a major upgrade. Narrow bath with shower curtain which sticks to you and the thermostat delivers hot and cold water intermittently. Could get scalded! Lights not working and drab decor does nothing to enhance your stay."

For what is probably among the most visited hotels in Edinburgh — being right on Princes Street — you may expect this Premier Inn to be higher on the list on the basis of convenience alone. However, some TripAdvisor reviewers weren't happy after arriving to find they had been placed in a basement room.
What one visitor said: "The Premier Inn Princes St, is a reasonably priced hotel in a good location. My major issue with the hotel is that unless you book a specific room type you may be allocated a room which is below street level and does not have natural lighting from a window. Customers are not informed of this situation when they make their booking and this is very unsatisfactory. I found the experience very claustrophobic and would not recommend staying in one of these rooms."

All reviewers were in agreement that this Premier Inn couldn't be faulted on its location, particularly for those keen to head up Arthur's Seat. However, there were a few that took issue with the service — with one stating that the hotel was "quite poorly managed".
What one visitor said: "Nice clean hotel, helpful friendly staff. Only bad point for us was the most uncomfortable bed ever. If we had been staying longer would have asked for a room change. A beefeater connected so ideal for a meal. Perfect location for Arthur's seat."

hub hotels are slightly different to the standard Premier Inn experiences, in that their rooms are more compact, modern, and affordable. The first of three on this list, the Royal Mile branch has mostly great reviews — but a few complaining about its "dirty" rooms and "unorganised" service brought it down slightly.
What one visitor said: "This was my 1st visit to Edinburgh and I couldn’t have been made more welcome than from the staff at the hub. They were friendly & couldn’t do enough to help you. The bedroom was very clean. The hotel is situated about 10mins from the old town & the same to the new town."

What one visitor said: "Stayed at Waverly Premier Inn prior to going to a concert. The room was clean, comfortable and even had a view of the Castle. Staff friendly and helpful on reception and in the breakfast restaurant. Would recommend and visit again."
Another Premier Inn in a great location, the vast majority of reviewers gave the Rose Street branch a 5/5 rating. While there were a few minor complaints regarding "loud fans" and the lack of a fridge in the rooms, most TripAdvisor users were unanimous in their praise.

With only 43 1/5 scores and 1,248 5/5 ones, it's safe to say the Edinburgh Central Premier Inn is popular among visitors. Within easy reach of all the major tourist attractions, and with "lovely" staff, it's not hard to see why it's so popular.
What one visitor said: "A spacious room with a fab view and the comfiest bed ever! The room was clean and tidy, safe for my baby to crawl around. The travel cot was set up ready to go with a blanket provided. Fabulous and friendly staff and the breakfast was yummy too!"

Here's one for the keen golfers. With world-class golf courses just up the road, the Newcraighall Premier Inn certainly has a lot going for it in terms of location. Luckily, there seems to be just as many positive things to say about the hotel itself — with TripAdvisor reviewers in particular praising the "quiet" surroundings.
What one visitor said: "I stayed here for a short trip and it was just perfect. Close to useful amenities and for getting where i needed to be. The staff on site were very lovely, kind and helpful which really makes a great start to the day. I worked from my room and the WiFi was good and I was able to ask for more complimentary tea/coffee supplies which was super. Breakfast was a great hit too."

Given its important location by the airport, it would have been unfortunate if the Lochside Court Premier Inn wasn't up to standard — fortunately it has earned rave reviews from visitors. Obviously, reviewers singled out the "handy" location, but praise was also given to the "fabulous" beds and "good food" at the restaurant.
What one visitor said: "This is a very comfortable and quiet Premier Inn. It has a coffee shop open during the day, and a restaurant with bar for the evening. There is a railway and tram station directly out side, and after using the bridge to cross the tracks you are in a shopping centre. The staff are kind and supportive. However one lady stood out. Her name is Angeles and she is extremely efficient and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for her."

The Haymarket hub just edged out the City Centre one to be the highest-rated hub hotel in the city. Considering its slightly less optimal location, that says a lot. If you don't need to stay smack-bang in the centre of Edinburgh, then this could be perfect for you.
What one visitor said: "This place was safe and in a good location for what I needed. The rooms are small but comfortable. The staff was friendly. I would recommend this place to friends and family and I would feel comfortable staying here again."

Taking a look at the reviews, it's not hard to see why. Reviews singled out the "comfortable" beds, "wonderful" staff, and "spotless" rooms.
What one visitor said: "This hotel has a fantastic location just off the city centre and very close to the amenities. It is also right next to the tram line and bus services. Our room was fantastic and well kept as are all Premier Inn places. The manager went out of his way to put us up in a lovely room with a view. The staff are wonderful and very friendly and helpful. Would definitely book with them again."
