Similar to other major European airports, Findel is currently struggling to keep up with the passenger flow, which means that people may continue facing extended waiting periods over the summer months.
The times of grounded planes and closed airports seem to be a thing of the past in Europe. Air traffic is reaching pre-pandemic levels, which has caused some amount of chaos at airports over the past couple of weeks.
Passengers are often forced to wait several hours to complete the check-in and security procedures, which is mainly caused by a lack of ground personnel. Some airlines were even forced to cancel flights in light of the situation.
Similar trends have also developed at Findel airport over the past months. Although not as bad as at some of Europe’s major airports, passengers are still often forced to endure lengthy waiting periods ahead of boarding.
Luxairport officials warn that the situation is not likely to change during the summer months. Passengers are therefore advised to arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to their flight. Public and school holidays in particular are expected to see extended waiting periods.
