The private drivers society (Blacklane) ranks Luxembourg before Rotterdam and Milan for the time between landing and exit.
How much time do passengers take to get from their seat on the plane to their seat in a car (”seat to seat”)? This is exactly what the society of private drivers, Blacklane, has analysed for hundreds of flights in hundreds of airports.
If the average is 23 minutes for national and 38 minutes for international flights, these times vary immensely from one airport to the other. This is where it is Luxembourg’s time to shine: the average time here is 15,5 minutes.

Posting such low figures Luxembourg comes first in a list that includes Rotterdam (16 minutes), Bergamo, Basel, Hanover and London City (21 minutes).
Osaka is the slowest airport, according to the stud’s findings, with an average time of 80,5 minutes.
European airports are often well ranked (10 among the first 11, with Shanghai being the 8th), mainly because passport controls have been simplified for European travellers, mentions the study.
Small airports are also more efficient than larger ones, if only by the distance that needs to be covered. Nevertheless, the speed is not linked to the number of passengers, as Munich and Frankfurt are well ranked (30 and 33 minutes), even though they welcome a large number of passengers (36,5 and 61,8 million).
In the US, the fastest airports are La Guardia in New York and Phoenix (27 minutes).
