MINSK, 21 August (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes won two gold, one silver and two bronze medals at the World U20 Wrestling Championships 2023 in Amman, Jordan. Belarusian wrestlers took part in the event as neutral athletes, BelTA has learned.
Abubakar Khaslakhanov won the second gold for Belarus in the men’s 97kg. The Belarusian wrestler defeated athletes from Iran, Russia and Estonia and beat Gor Ayvazyan of Georgia, 8-0, in the final.
Earlier, Arina Martynova brought a gold medal to Belarus in the junior 55kg event. Alesya Getmanova took silver in the 59kg event. Bronze medals were collected by Kseniya Terenya in the 65kg event and Alesya Shevchuk (68kg).
