“Went for lunch with my wife and from start to finish we could not find a single fault. Food and service are absolutely superb and I would rate this restaurant as one of the best in the Dundee area.”
“Enjoyed a lovely dinner here, great food, great service. The scallop, sweetcorn & chorizo starter was exceptionally good. Good choices, good value for money. If we lived in the area we'd be regulars!”
“The food is very good but I would advise against getting a seat near the window in the summer as it heats up like a conservatory.”
27 Gray Street Broughty Ferry DD5 2BH, Website: solysombratapasbar.co.uk
Sol y Sombra has been one of Dundee’s most popular tapas bars since it opened in 2011.
Born out of a love for Spanish food and culture, it has created a menu of fresh, authentic and simple tapas.

“Ate on my own on a work trip and made the right choice to come here, the food was amazing and the service was excellent. Very fairly priced having Pork Cheek starter and a large rack of ribs and chips all for £25, some of the best food I’ve had in a long time. Food came quickly and staff were polite and everything was very clean. Highly recommend!”
“Fantastic service, helpful on he phone, fast delivery and delicious bbq chicken and sauce, Mac and cheese for the tot was tasty too! Highly recommend and will use the service again!”

“First visit and we loved it. Very intimate little place, lovely lighting and atmosphere.
“The menu was lovely, we both had the specials, scallops for starter and fillet steak for main. The food was delicious, portion size just right. “Our waiter was excellent and looked after us well. The owner and chef popped out to check everything was ok with our meal.
“We will be back.”
“What a delightful restaurant ! We had an early Christmas night out with an unbelievable meal for nine of us.
“The food was first class, (all varied dishes from fish – to steaks and pasta – and every single one was cooked to perfection) and the service was brilliant (even playing our favourite Christmas songs whilst we finished our drinks!).
“Can't wait to go back and would thoroughly recommend Picollo.”
