The Place Located at the newly opened Hilton Singapore Orchard, I checked out Estate restaurant, the all-day buffet dining concept in Singapore which took over the space of what used to be Triple Three. The space of Estate is a vast change from its predecessor and is conceptualised by award-winning global hospitality design firm EDG Design.
The interior takes reference from colonial-style residence inspired by the humble origins of Orchard Road which used to be filled with fruit orchards and nutmeg plantations, with various dining sections carved out for better dining privacy. I like the neutral colour tones used from the walls to the wooden chairs and colonial-style floor tiles.
The Food I visited the restaurant for its dinner buffet (from S$82++ per adult), where the spread showcases various international cuisines. You can walk around to visually see the dishes, though the staff will assist to pick the dishes for you. There are different zones for the buffet line designed in a residential-style open kitchen concept.
Dinner buffet aside, Estate also offers a Grand Sunday Champagne Brunch Buffet experience happening every Sunday.
Raw & Seafood Kitchen: Salads, charcuterie, seafood from live shucked oysters, tiger prawns to black mussels.
Grill Kitchen: Asian-inspired skewers of meat cuts and vegetables with special homemade rubs and marinades grilled to perfection. Highlights include Black Miso Chicken and Wagyu Beef Kofta.
Noodle & Wrap Kitchen: Hand-crafted noodles are paired with aromatic broth or contemporary-styled Asian and Western choices. Highlights include Cantonese-style Wagyu Beef Noodles and Squid Ink Homemade Gluten-Free Tagliatelle with Octopus Confit. A showcase of wraps honouring different Asian cultures with new upgraded pairings. Highlights include Singapore-style Popiah with Soft Shell Crab and Gochujang Chicken Tacos.
Wok, Fry & Premium Barbeque Kitchen: Flame-kissed wok dishes, premium meat cuts and accompaniments. Highlights include Estate Black Truffle Roasted Duck, which is my favourite dish here.
Hilton Honors members will enjoy up to 25% off food and beverage and earn 500 Hilton Honors bonus points at Estate and Ginger.Lily until 30 June 2022.
Rants Note that there is no Japanese cuisine on the buffet line for now, which will disappoint sushi and sashimi lovers.
Will I Return Again? Gorgeous restaurant in the new Hilton Singapore Orchard, where the dishes at Estate lean heavily towards Asian flavours. The variety is definitely not as wide as Edge or Colony, but there are highlights of premium ingredients used to make up for the shortfall, including dishes not commonly spotted in other buffet lines like a skewer station and truffle duck.
This was an invited tasting, though all opinions expressed are our own.
Make your reservations instantly at Estate here.
