Breakfast at school, 500 times over
For thousands of Western Australian children, the “back-to-school” buzz comes with a worrying reality: the choice between a full lunchbox and school essentials.
Rising costs squeeze household budgets, leaving little for the fuel that powers young minds. School fees, uniforms, shoes – the list mounts, pushing nutritious meals off the plate.
But in the classrooms where stomachs rumble, there’s still hope. In over 500 schools across the state, a special program is quietly feeding change, one breakfast at a time.
Never-ending nutritious meals
A simple ingredient, like a can of chickpeas, can provide a never-ending list of nutritious meals. Chickpea burgers, chickpea salad and a zesty chickpea couscous are just some of the recipes you can make with the humble can of chickpeas.
Check out recipes just like those and a whole bunch more, crafted by our nutritionists.
If you like what you see there, and would like to host a nom! program in your community, our nutritionists would love to work with you. Learn how to create endless meals from your everyday pantry ingredients.

When hunger hits home, pets don’t get left behind
Do you know how many food-insecure households have pets? At two-thirds, that’s a huge amount of people already doing it tough needing extra support.
Fortunately, this is support we’re able to provide them thanks to the incredible donations from pet care donors like Mars Petcare, Royal Canin and Nestlé Purina Petcare Australia. Donations like these mean families are able to look after and support the furry friends who provide them with love, companionship and emotional care. There’s so much to celebrate about donations like these.

South32 helps fill empty plates
Imagine filling a grocery basket in Perth. Now imagine filling that same basket in a remote town.
Food relief is in greater demand than ever before and the South West is no exception. Thanks to the support of South 32, we can continue to make food accessible to those who are doing it tough in the region.
The 2023 Regional Price Index reveals the stark difference: in 39 Western Australian towns, basic living expenses cost much, much more.
Did you know that your morning cup of coffee is 15% more expensive in the Pilbara?
Support from our Bunbury branch sponsor, South32, means families accessing our services in the South West are able to receive valuable support to keep their pantries full and fridges stocked.

Tackling hunger, score for Western Australia
Hunger is on the rise in Western Australia, but together with Perth Glory, we’re tackling it head-on.
Join us for the Perth Glory Charity Game on Saturday, 24 February 2024 at HBF Park and donate online to help us feed those going without.
This isn’t just a match. It’s a mission to get food and groceries to the Western Australians in our community who need it most.
388,000 Western Australian households are going without food every day. That includes 120,000 children.
In a state as rich as Western Australia, this should not be happening. With the help of Perth Glory fans, we can make sure it doesn’t have to.
Let’s score a victory for our community, together. Spread the word, raise awareness or donate today.

One subscription, unending impact
Scrolling through endless shows on your streaming service, yet nothing grabs you?
One of our donors felt the same, and so they shared with us their reason for becoming a monthly donor to help support families doing it tough.
This donor now contributes $21 a month which means they’re helping feed a child for a fourtnight. Talk about real impact.
Feed imagination, fuel solutions
“My kids? Snack monsters,” Daniel laughed. “There’s never enough snacks in the house for these two.” Daniel recently visited our school holiday activity station at Warwick Grove shopping centre where he bumped into our Hunger Ghrelins and their story of hunger, hormones and hope.
“My youngest spotted the purple monster so we had to come check it out,” he said. “This is a great idea to teach them that there’s a world beyond our fridge.”
