Around 900 assets, including trucks and machinery, used for Perth’s $1.86 billion Forrestfield-Airport Link are set to go to auction later this month.
The Forrestfield-Airport Link is a new 8.5km rail service covering Perth’s eastern suburbs, which will open to the public on Sunday October 9.
Since May 2021, Ritchie Bros. has held eight auctions and dispersed over 881 assets for the lead contractor on the project, Salini Impregilo and NRW Joint Venture (SI-NRW JV).
SI-NRW JV will again use Ritchie Bros. for this latest equipment dispersal, with the final SI-NRW JV auction to be held on Tuesday, September 20.
Ritchie Bros. will use its multi-channel disposition solutions to dispose of the remaining fleet of construction equipment and other materials used by SI-NRW JV. The inventory will be marketed to the company’s network of both local and global buyers.
SI-NRW JV assets have been sold through Ritchie Bros. platform IronPlanet. IronPlanet has a strong track record of facilitating online transactions for equipment owners, with over 460 items sold in 2022 from Australia alone.
For SI-NRW JV, Ritchie Bros. created a dedicated storefront. The equipment is available to review 24/7 by interested bidders and buyers globally. All assets appear on a purpose-built webpage created specifically for SI-NRW JV. Bidders can view a selection of pictures, in depth information, and then decide on placing a bid. Items have been sold via monthly auctions, with the last one scheduled for September 20.
“Machinery includes excavators, all-terrain cranes, trucks, wheel loaders, skid steers and industrial support and workshop items,” said Cody Irvine, Ritchie Bros. territory manager.
“It has been a pleasure to work with Salini Impregilo and NRW for the past two years. Our contract with SI-NRW has really helped establish our presence in Western Australia and our new site in Muchea.”
