Media outlet Cailian Press reported on Monday that it learned from people familiar with the matter that Geely’s Geometry Auto, a pure electric vehicle brand, plans to be equipped with Huawei HarmonyOS in the next five years. It will then access Huawei’s intelligent ecosystem, targeting the middle- and high-end markets.
Regarding this news, media outlet Caijing contacted the relevant person in charge of Geometry Auto on Monday. The individual said that there is indeed such a plan at present. However, when another domestic outlet, The Paper, contacted several Huawei insiders for verification, they received the opposite response. As of noon on November 2, Huawei did not respond to this matter.
The day before, Geely Auto Group released the “Smart Geely 2025” strategy, which showed that from 2022, Geometry Auto will successively launch more than five hit products newly created by pure electric architectures, including Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform.
Huawei HarmonyOS system is accelerating “getting on the cars.” On October 22, at the Huawei Developer Conference, Huawei Executive Director Yu Chengdong revealed that the first HarmonyOS intelligent cockpit car will be released at the end of this year or early next year, and the new SUV luxury model of SERES will be equipped with the cockpit. Consumers will be able to realize seamless operation across devices including smartphones, watches, and cockpits. The car can connect with other intelligent terminals and share information, while various hardware devices can connect with people, vehicles and families.

On October 28, the relevant person in charge of BAIC BluePark New Energy revealed that their new BAIC Arcfox Huawei Hi Edition equipped with HarmonyOS will be delivered in small batches in November.
